WASHINGTON - Jul 12/17 - SNS -- The 2017 apricot crop is forecast at 55,500 tons, down 13% from last year, according to the latest USDA crop forecast.
The California crop represents 85% of the total United States production. Harvest in California began in May, approximately 7 to 10 days later than last year. Some growers reported rain during the blossom period.
