MELBOURNE - Jun 24/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure lies over northern Victoria and New South Wales. A cold front will cross southern Victoria on Sunday afternoon and evening. A high pressure system will move over the Bight on Monday then cross Victoria on Tuesday, reaching the Tasman Sea by Wednesday. A low pressure trough will reach western Victoria later on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayMorning fog and frost patches in the east, then mostly sunny over east Gippsland. Mostly cloudy elsewhere with isolated, light showers, falling as snow above 1200 metres. Showers increasing over the southwest during the afternoon and over the central and south Gippsland coasts during the evening. A cool day with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds, shifting southwesterly in the west later.Monday 26 JuneMorning fog and frost patches inland. Isolated showers over southern and mountain districts, scattered along the west and central coasts at first. Fine and mostly sunny in the north. Snow showers above 1400 metres. Cool to cold with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 27 JuneMorning fog and frost patches inland, mainly in the northeast. Partly cloudy with isolated showers in the west. Cool to cold with light to moderate northerly winds.Wednesday 28 JuneMorning fog and frost patches inland. Isolated showers developing throughout, more widespread about the southwest. Snow showers above 1400 metres.
