MELBOURNE - Jun 24/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system west of Perth extends a ridge over the State. A trough will move over the southeast on Sunday, followed by a second frond moving across the west on Tuesday night. The high will then move over South Australia later in the week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayA slight to medium chance of rain developing in the far northwest of the North West Pastoral district, with a chance of a shower over the remaining parts of the Pastoral and Flinders districts. A slight to medium chance of showers about the southern and western coasts. Generally cool with light winds.Sunday 25 JuneA slight to medium chance of rain northwest of about William Creek, increasing to a high to very high chance in the far northwest. A slight to medium chance of showers over most of the agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to a medium to high chance of about the southern coasts and ranges. Possible morning fog patches. Cold at first in parts with morning frost then a cool to mild day with moderate southwest to southerly winds extending throughout.Monday 26 JuneA slight to medium chance of rain north of about Streaky Bay to Leigh Creek, increasing to a high to very high chance in the north of the North West Pastoral district. A slight to medium chance of showers about the southern agricultural district, tending to a medium to high chance about central coastal district. Possible morning fog and frost patches. A cool to mild day with mainly light winds turning moderate southeast to easterly in the north.Tuesday 27 JuneA slight to medium chance of rain north of about Cleve to Broken Hill, increasing to a high to very high chance over the North West Pastoral district. A slight to medium chance of showers about the southern and western coasts, increasing during the day to a high to very high chance about western Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East Coast. Possible morning fog mainly over Kangaroo Island. Possible early frost patches over the Riverland and Mid North districts, and southern parts of the Flinders and North East Pastoral districts. Generally cool with light winds.Wednesday 28 June A slight to medium chance of rain northeast of about Woomera to Keith, increasing to a high to very high chance in the North East Pastoral district, all easing and contracting to the far northeast by the end of the day. A slight to medium chance of showers extending over the west and agricultural areas following the rain, increasing to a medium to high chance of a shower about coastal districts. Possible thunderstorms about southern coasts. Possible early morning fog west of about Spencer Gulf. A cool day with mainly light winds tending moderate to fresh southerly in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 5 mm, increasing to 5 to 10 mm about southern and western coastal areas, 5 to 20 mm over the North West Pastoral district. Local falls possibly reaching 20 to 30 mm in the far west of the North West Pastoral district. Less than 2 mm is expected about the Riverland district, and parts of the Murraylands, Mid North, Eastern Eyre Peninsula and North East Pastoral districts. Thursday until SaturdayA slight to medium chance of rain in the far northeast, clearing Thursday morning. A slight to medium chance of a shower about the agricultural area gradually easing and clearing by the ed of the week.
