MELBOURNE - Jun 23/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over northeast New South Wales remains the dominant synoptic feature in the region, promoting fine conditions over the state. A fairly weak cold front will arrive on the weekend as the high decays, but is not expected to bring any significant rain. Following this, a new ridge is expected to extend across from the west at the start of next week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayThe chance of a shower in southern and central districts, more likely about western slopes of the southern ranges, with snow above 1300 metres on Alps. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Cool morning, with early frost and fog patches about the tablelands and adjacent slopes. Warm afternoon in the northwest. Light and variable winds inland, tending west to southwesterly near the coast.Sunday 25 JuneA shower or two in southern and central districts, more likely about western slopes of the southern ranges, with snow above 1400 metres on Alps. Fine and partly cloudy in the north. Early frost and fog on the ranges and adjacent slopes. Warm afternoon in the northwest. West to northwesterly winds, turning southwesterly across the southern inland.Monday 26 JuneThe chance of showers over the southern inland, with snow showers above 1400 metres on the Alps. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost patches on the ranges and adjacent slopes. Light and variable winds inland, and south to southwesterly winds near the coast.Tuesday 27 JuneThe slight chance of showers in the far northeast, the far west and the western slopes of the southern ranges, falling as snow above about 1300 metres. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Areas of morning frost and fog over the ranges and western slopes.
