Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 23/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge lies north of Victoria as a cold front moves over the southwest. The front will cross the remainder of southern Victoria tonight and early Saturday morning. Another cold front will enter southern Victoria from Bass Strait later on Sunday, then a ridge of high pressure over the Bight will extend across northern Victoria on Monday. Another cold front is forecast to reach the State's southwest later on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFog patches developing over the northeast tonight. Isolated showers over southern and mountain districts, extending from the southwest during this evening. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds, locally fresh in the south ahead of a southwesterly change.Saturday 24 JuneAreas of morning fog in the north and west, with early local frost patches in the northeast. Cloudy during the day with isolated showers for southern and mountain districts, more scattered about the coast and eastern ranges during the morning. Dry and partly cloudy in the northwest. Snow showers down to 1100m. Cool to cold with mostly light south to southwesterly winds, locally fresh on the Gippsland coast.Sunday 25 JunePartly cloudy with isolated showers, more widespread about the eastern ranges and falling as snow over Alpine areas. Showers increasing in the southwest during the afternoon, extending inland and to central areas at night. Cool to cold with moderate northwest to westerly winds, fresh at times along the coast.Monday 26 JuneIsolated showers mainly over southern and mountain districts, scattered along the west and central coasts at first. Dry and mostly sunny in the northwest. Possible snow showers over Alpine areas. A cool to cold day with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 27 JuneMorning frost patches inland, mainly in the northeast. Isolated showers with light falls for most areas, tending more scattered in the southwest during the day. Generally cold with light northerly winds, freshening in the south later.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
