Few Changes in Birdseeds
PANAMA - Jun 10/17 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading unchanged to firmer in seasonally light trading interest.
Seeding continues to make good progress in both the United States and Canada. Canaryseed planting is roughly 91% complete, compared to 98% at this time last year and the recent average of 90%.
Discussing the situation in the United States, the National Sunflower Association (NSA) said, "Sunflower planting is moving along at or ahead of the five-year average in most states.
"Above normal temperatures with below normal precipitation continue in the Northern Plains. Of major concern is many areas in the US sunflower production region have already slid into a moderate to severe drought situation."
