Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 27/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front near a line Whyalla to Robe at 4pm will move across the east of the State tonight. A colder west to southwesterly airstream will persist over the south of the State on Sunday in the wake of the front. Another cold front will approach southern coasts late Monday evening and move over the southeast of the State early Tuesday. A strong high pressure system will move over the Bight on Tuesday and be centred near the eastern border Wednesday morning.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayA high to very high chance of showers and possible squally thunderstorms extending across the southern agricultural area, with a slight to medium chance of showers across the west coast, northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler fresh to strong west to southwesterly change near a line Whyalla to Robe at 4pm, extending across the remainder of the south tonight.Sunday 28 MayEarly fog patches about the Flinders district and the far northwest. A high to very high chance of showers and across the southern agricultural area, with possible small hail and early thunder about the Lower South East. A slight to medium chance of showers across the West Coast district, northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, strong about southern coasts.Monday 29 MayEarly fog patches about the Flinders and far south of the Northwest Pastoral. A high to very chance of showers about central and southeastern parts of the agricultural area. A slight to medium chance of showers over the rest of the agricultural area, the West Coast district and far south and far northwest of the pastoral districts. Cool to cold with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending moderate to fresh westerly in the south.Tuesday 30 MayEarly fog patches about the Flinders district. A high to very chance of showers about central and southeastern parts of the agricultural area, with possible thunder and small hail in the Lower South East in the morning. A slight to medium chance of showers over the rest of the agricultural area, the West Coast district and the pastoral districts south of Leigh Creek. Cool to cold with light to moderate northwest winds in the southeast, shifting south to southwest throughout fresh about the coasts.Wednesday 31 May
Cold early with areas of frost, then fine apart from a slight chance of an early shower about the Lower South East coast. Light winds over central and eastern parts of the agricultural area, tending moderate southeast to northeast over the remainder.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Wednesday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area, reaching 20 to 40 mm about the Mount Lofty Ranges south of the Barossa Valley and near the coasts in the South East districts. 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and west coast and up to 2 mm over the south and far northwest of the pastoral districts.
Thursday until SaturdayCold mornings with areas of frost, then fine and cool to mild days. Light winds, tending moderate to southeast to northeast in the north and west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Sunday.Product IDS10033
