MELBOURNE - May 27/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the State today will move east ahead of a cold front expected to sweep through New South Wales on Sunday. A short lived ridge of high pressure will extend in the wake of the front on Monday, before another cold front moves through on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMostly clear apart from the slight chance of showers in the northeast and over the far southern inland. North to northwesterly winds.Sunday 28 MayModerate chance of showers over the southeastern inland increasing to a high chance on the Alps with snow showers likely above 1000 metres later. Slight chance of showers or a thunderstorm on the northern ranges and the southern inland and Alps. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds turning southwesterly in the west.Monday 29 MayEarly showers on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges, contracting south and falling as snow above 900 metres. Early frost on the east of the southern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.Tuesday 30 MayEarly frost or fog patches along the ranges and slopes. Showers over the southern inland, tending more likely about the western slopes of the southern ranges, and falling as snow above 1000 metres. Mostly dry and partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwest winds, gusty in the south, and shifting west to southwest during the day.Wednesday 31 MayEarly frost or fog patches in the east. Scattered showers and partly cloudy in the east, mostly about the central east. Dry and mostly sunny elsewhere.
