Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 24/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure to the north of Victoria drifts slowly eastward over the next few days. A weak cold front moves over the Bight, before crossing Bass Strait and coastal Victoria on Thursday. Another, stronger cold front approaches the west of the State later on Saturday, before moving over the remainder of Victoria during Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers about the coast. A partly cloudy evening with moderate westerly winds, fresh about the coast.Thursday 25 MayIsolated showers near the coast extending to southern an mountain areas during the day. Showers becoming scattered about the southwest. Early fog patches in the north and east. Mild with light to moderate northwesterly winds freshening ahead of a late westerly change in the west.Friday 26 MayIsolated showers in the east, contracting to the southeast during the morning. Morning fog patches inland. A cool to mild day with a light to moderate northwesterly wind freshening in the southwest later.Saturday 27 MayEarly fogs in Gippsland. Scattered showers developing over the southwest and northern slopes during the afternoon, extending to central parts in the late evening. Snow about the peaks in the late evening. A mild day with a freshening northerly wind.Sunday 28 MayScattered showers contracting to southern and mountain parts in the late afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms and hail about the west coast, extending to southern parts during the morning, then contracting to the southeast in the evening. Cool to cold with fresh northerly winds tending westerly in the morning, gusty about the coast at times.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Thursday.Product IDV10310
