Mixed Week in Birdseeds
PANAMA - May 6/17 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets managed a mixed finish on the week, with strength in sunflowers partly offset by weakness in canaryseed.
New crop bids for both oil and confection sunflower remain strong because markets would like to see more planted than currently intended.
Discussing market conditions, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association said some of the strength stemmed from a rally in soybean oil markets "on talk that the US may announce a decision on the bio diesel anti-dumping case and new bio diesel taxes.
