MELBOURNE - Apr 26/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A vigorous cold front is crossing New South Wales today, bringing a cool southwesterly change. In the wake of this front, a low pressure circulation will develop over the western Tasman Sea tonight, then move rapidly east during Thursday as a high in the Bight extends a ridge into New South Wales. This high is forecast to drift slowly east during the following few days, promoting mostly fine weather though colder mornings. The next frontal system is expected to cross the state early next week. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayShowers and possible thunderstorms in the east, clearing during the evening. Snow on the southern ranges above 1000 metres. Fine in the west. Fresh and gusty west to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Thursday 27 AprilMorning frosts about the ranges and slopes. Fine apart from the chance of a late shower or two about the northern half of the coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty near the coast, and in the far west.Friday 28 AprilMorning frost about the ranges and slopes. A possible shower along the northern coast, and about the southern inland. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds, fresh about the northern coast.Saturday 29 AprilThe chance of a shower along central and northern pats of the coast, and about the southern inland. Early frost patches on the ranges, mainly in the north. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southerly winds.Sunday 30 AprilThe chance of a shower or two near the coast, mainly central parts, otherwise fine. Early frost patches on the ranges.
