MELBOURNE - Apr 25/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front over the southwest of the state will move through NSW today establishing a cool change throughout, while a trough in the northeast will move offshore during the day. The trough will deepen with a low developing over the southwestern Tasman Sea before moving rapidly east as as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ridge over the western Tasman Sea. The next frontal system is expected to cross the state late Monday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPartly cloudy in the northwest. Showers or rain elsewhere. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast and also in the southeast. Snow on the Alps above 1500 metres at first, lowering to 1000 metres in the south overnight. Fresh and gusty west to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Thursday 27 AprilMorning frosts about the ranges and slopes. A shower or two on the far southern Alps, with snow above 1000 metres at first, gradually lifting to about 1600 metres later. A shower or two on the central coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwest winds, fresh and gusty near the coast.Friday 28 AprilMorning frost about the ranges slopes. A shower or two over the far southeast and on the coastal fringe of the northern half. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds, fresh about the coast.Saturday 29 AprilMorning frost about the northern ranges. A shower or two over the southern inland and on the coastal fringe. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
