MELBOURNE - Apr 25/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough proceeded by rain band is crossing western New South Wales and a cold front is moving to the south. The trough will move offshore during Wednesday and deepen with a low developing over the southwestern Tasman Sea before moving rapidly east as as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight strengthening a ridge to the western Tasman Sea. The next trough/cold front front is expected to cross the state on Monday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPartly cloudy on the far north cost and in the far west. High chance of rain or showers elsewhere with the chance of thunderstorms west of Divide. North to northwesterly winds turning cooler west to southwesterly in the southwest.Wednesday 26 AprilPartly cloudy in the northwest. Medium to high chance of showers or rain elsewhere. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast and in the southeast. Snow on the Alps above 1500 metres at first, extending to 1000 metres in the south overnight. Fresh and gusty west to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Thursday 27 AprilMorning frosts about the ranges and slopes. Slight chance of showers on the far southern Alps, with snow above 1000 metres. Slight chance of showers on the central coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwest winds, fresh and gusty near the coast.Friday 28 AprilMorning frost about the ranges slopes. Slight chance of showers on the northern half of the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds, fresh about the coast.Saturday 29 AprilSlight chance of showers in the southern inland and on the coastal fringe. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
