French February Pea Exports Surge
PARIS - Apr 10/16 - SNS -- Field pea shipments from France jumped in February on account of a large shipment to India, according to data compiled by Terres Univia.
Export shipments during the month totalled 40,655 metric tons (MT), up 233% from the 12,210 MT shipped the previous month, but down 22% from the 52,270 MT shipped the same month last year. Season to date movement is now 12% over last season at 247,765 MT.
India was the most important destination in February with shipments of 31,324 MT, followed by Belgium at 5,675 and Italy at 1,495 MT.
