MELBOURNE - Mar 26/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will cross Victoria on Monday, then a ridge of high pressure will extend across the State from the Bight during Tuesday. Another cold front will move across the State later on Wednesday, while the ridge in the Bight will strengthen on Thursday, extending southeast over Tasmania. Forecast for the rest of MondayMorning fog patches in Gippsland. Scattered showers developing from the west, mainly in the south and remaining dry across the far northwest. Isolated thunderstorms developing over central and eastern areas in the afternoon, contracting east then clearing in evening. Warm to hot with gusty northerly winds, reaching gale force at times, ahead of a squally west to southwesterly cool change extending from the west during the day. Winds easing in the evening.Fire Danger - High to Very High.Tuesday 28 MarchFine apart from isolated light showers near the coast and in the east, clearing during the day. A mild and mostly sunny day with light to moderate west to southwest winds.Wednesday 29 MarchFine at first, but scattered showers gradually extending from the west over southern and mountain areas in the afternoon and evening. Warm and partly cloudy with moderate north to northwesterly winds shifting west to southwesterly from the west.Thursday 30 MarchScattered showers for southern and mountain areas, gradually easing during the day. Dry and partly cloudy in the north.
