Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 26/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front near a line Beachport to Oodnadatta, will move through the northeast corner of the State by evening. A ridge of high pressure will develop over the Bight today and Tuesday, ahead of a cold front moving over the south on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayA slight to medium chance of showers and possible thunderstorms over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, contracting eastwards and clearing around mid afternoon. A cooler, fresh to strong southwest to southerly change near a line Beachport to Oodnadatta at 5 am extending northeastwards, reaching the northeast corner of the State by evening. A hot to very hot day over the northeast of the North East Pastoral ahead of the change with moderate northerly winds.Tuesday 28 MarchFine apart from the slight chance of a shower near the Lower South East coast and over southern Kangaroo Island. Cool to mild grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 29 MarchA cold front extending from the southwest with the slight to medium chance of showers developing from the south late morning or afternoon over the agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to a medium to high chance of showers over the southern agricultural area. Fine over the remainder. Cool in the south grading to hot in the far northeast. Light to moderate southwest to northwesterly winds, freshening in the south, becoming fresh southwest to southerly following the front, strong at times near the coasts and ranges.Thursday 30 March
A slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area and near the coasts, more likely near southern coasts and the southern Mount Lofty Ranges. Cool to mild throughout with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Thursday are expected to be up to 2 mm over the agricultural area and over the West Coast district. Higher falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible over the southern agricultural area, with isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm near southern coasts, the southern Mount Lofty Ranges and in the Lower South East district.
Friday until SundayThe slight chance of showers near western coasts and over the southern agricultural area, mostly near the coasts. Mostly mild with moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
