MELBOURNE - Feb 25/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow moving high pressure system centred over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge across Tasmania to waters south of the Bight. Little change is expected in this pattern over the coming days although a new high will strengthen south of the Bight on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundaySunny over the north. Early morning fogs and areas of low cloud in the south clearing to a mostly sunny afternoon although some cloud persisting about the ranges. Warm inland with light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds. Milder near the coast with fresh to locally strong east to southeasterly winds.Fire Danger - Moderate to High.Monday 27 FebruaryFine after early fog patches in Gippsland. A warm and mainly sunny day with a light to moderate east to northeasterly wind and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 28 FebruaryFine and sunny apart from isolated showers about the far eastern ranges during the afternoon. A warm to hot day with generally light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Wednesday 1 MarchFine and mostly sunny apart from isolated showers about the eastern ranges during the afternoon.
