MELBOURNE - Feb 25/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred over waters south of South Australia will continue to drift eastwards, crossing Tasmania tonight and reaching the Tasman Sea on Sunday. The high will remain over the Tasman Sea next week and the ridge across Tasmania to waters south of the Bight will persist. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayGenerally clear apart from isolated showers and drizzle over Gippsland. Drizzle patches also developing along the surf coast and Otways tonight. Moderate to locally fresh south to southeasterly winds.Sunday 26 FebruaryEarly morning fogs in the south otherwise fine apart from local after early morning drizzle over far east Gippsland and along the surf coast and Otways. Warm and sunny inland with light to moderate east to southeasterly winds. Milder near the coast with fresh to locally strong east to southeasterly winds.Fire Danger - Moderate to High.Monday 27 FebruaryFine after early fog patches in Gippsland. A warm and mainly sunny day with a light to moderate east to northeasterly wind and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 28 FebruaryFine and sunny apart from isolated showers about the far eastern ranges during the afternoon.
