MELBOURNE - Feb 24/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the Bight is moving east extending a ridge along the New South Wales south coast and a low pressure trough lies over central parts. The high will move over the southern Tasman on Sunday extending a ridge to the north coast, with another trough possible developing offshore. Forecast for the rest of FridayMedium to high chance showers on the south and central coast and adjacent ranges with the chance of thunderstorms. Thunderstorms more likely about central ranges and possibly severe. Southeast to southwesterly winds, tending east to southeasterly about the northeast.Saturday 25 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers in the eastern half increasing to high to very chance on the central coast and ranges, the chance of thunderstorms. Mostly sunny in the west. East to southeasterly winds tending southerly in the far west.Sunday 26 FebruaryMedium to high chance of showers in the eastern half increasing to very chance on the central coast and ranges, the chance of thunderstorms. Mostly sunny in the far west.
