Record U.S. Mustard Crop
PANAMA - Jan 14/17 - SNS -- Mustard seed production is up sharply in the United States this year at a record 43,700 metric tons (MT).
Combined with a near doubling of Canadian output from 123,400 to 233,900 MT, North American production more than doubled to 277,600 MT.
Increased production in the United States has had no immediate impact on imports from Canada, with shipments for the first four months of the marketing year slipping just 1,000 MT to almost 21,400. Even so, exports from Canada to all destinations are up 12% at just over 41,000 MT.
