Small Caliber Kabuli Output Rising

PANAMA - Dec 23/16 - SNS -- Kabuli chickpea markets maintained their firm tone through the past week.

Stocks had been tight because of reduced crops in India and Mexico earlier in the year. New crop supplies from Argentina are providing some relief, but the harvest has moved forward at a slower than normal pace because of poor weather conditions.

Strong markets and good demand are expected to have a significant impact on areas sown to small and medium caliber kabuli chickpeas in the 2017.
