Grading Grows as Issue in Lentils
PANAMA - Dec 17/16 - SNS -- Green lentil grading is becoming a more important factor for Canadian processors and exporters, with some buyers expressing limited confidence in the country's grading system.
"The Canadian Grain Commission knows grain," one importer quipped. "But they are ignorant about lentils."
The key issue is the grading of No 2 Canada green lentils. The fact there is an issue for buyers is reflected in asking prices for that grade.
