Edible Beans Maintain Firm Tone

PANAMA - Dec 17/16 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets maintained their firm tone through the past week despite slowing end user buying interest.

This was reflected in the U.S. spot index for beans, which eased 0.5 points on the week to finish the week at 150.5.

Other pulse markets ended the week continued firm, with the Canadian and world pulse price indexes maintaining their recent uptrend.

The Canadian index rose for the twelfth consecutive week, gaining 2.2 points to finish at 202.2 points. The world pulse price index managed its fourteenth week over week advance, rising 3.2 points to finish at 203.7.
