Kabuli Market Supply Worries

PANAMA - Dec 17/16 - SNS -- Kabuli chickpea markets finished the week's trading with a firm undertone against worries production in Mexico will not recover in 2017.

Supplies of 10mm and larger kabuli chickpeas have been tight because of this year's short crops in both Mexico and India.

Combined with substitution of smaller caliber kabuli chickpeas for desi on the Indian subcontinent, demand for 9mm product has been solid as packagers and canners also look for substitutes.
