Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 6/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge will continue to develop over the Bight, extending across Victoria during Wednesday then moving over the Tasman Sea. On Thursday morning a strong cold front will cross Victoria, reaching the State's far east in the afternoon before continuing east. During Friday a high will cross the Bight, with a ridge extending eastward over Victoria during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine throughout, partly cloudy in the far east. Light south to southwesterly along the coast during the afternoon.Wednesday 7 DecemberPossible morning drizzle over the inland southeast, otherwise fine and mostly sunny until isolated showers develop over the far west in the evening. Warm inland with light winds tending northerly. Milder along the coastal fringe with afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger -  Generally high.Thursday 8 DecemberScattered showers and possible thunderstorms extending across the State during the morning and early afternoon. Storms clearing from the west, showers easing and contracting to the coast. Warmer in the east at first, ahead of a cooler, fresh and gusty westerly change extending throughout.Friday 9 DecemberScattered showers over southern and mountain areas, becoming isolated and contracting to the coast late in the day. Dry in the northwest. Snow showers possible above 1500 metres. A cool day with southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty near coastal parts though moderating later.Saturday 10 DecemberPartly cloudy in the south with isolated showers clearing in the morning. Dry and mostly sunny in the north. Generally mild with light southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
