Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 5/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad low pressure trough extends from Queensland into western New South Wales. This trough is expected to be the dominant synoptic feature over the next few days, with only a weak front passing through southern parts of the State during Monday. This pattern will maintain hot conditions over the northern inland until Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayShowers and the chance of thunderstorms through most areas. Thunderstorms more likely in the east in the afternoon, particularly over the northern ranges. Hot in the north. Northwest to northeasterly winds ahead of a cool southerly change extending through the west and south.Fire Danger -  Severe: Upper Central West Plains; Very High: Far North Coast, Northern Slopes, North Western, Lower Central West Plains.Tuesday 6 DecemberShowers with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms through most areas, less likely over the southern inland. Hot in the north. West to southwest winds inland, tending north to northwesterly in the northeast and south to southeasterly along the southern and central coasts.Wednesday 7 DecemberThe chance of a shower in the east and north, more likely in the northeast. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. South to southeasterly winds along the south coast extending to the north coast later. Light winds inland.Thursday 8 DecemberThe chance of a shower, more likely in the northeast and the southern inland. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a southwest change extending from the south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Monday.Product IDN10031
