MELBOURNE - Dec 4/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front approaching from the west will enter western Victoria late in the evening before crossing most remaining districts overnight and Monday morning, but will not clear the northeast until Monday afternoon. The next high pressure ridge will develop over the Bight on Monday and extend across Victoria on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday another cold front will cross the State. Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers. Isolated thunderstorms mainly over the west tonight. Moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting cooler southwesterly in the far west late tonight.Monday 5 DecemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, clearing from the far west during the early morning, and contracting to the northeast during the day. Warm with moderate north to northwesterly winds in the east ahead of cooler south to southwesterly winds gradually extending throughout and becoming fresh at times near the coast.Fire Danger - Low to moderate, reaching high in the north.Tuesday 6 DecemberIsolated showers over the far east and also over the far north. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild in the south, warmer in the north with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds, tending more southerly along the coast during the afternoon.Wednesday 7 DecemberFine until isolated showers develop over the far west during the evening. Warm inland with light winds tending northerly. Milder along the coastal fringe with afternoon coastal seabreezes.Thursday 8 DecemberScattered showers extending to most most districts although only isolated showers over the far northwest. Isolated thunderstorms.
