MELBOURNE - Dec 4/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front moving eastwards across the State will move over the North East Pastoral district overnight followed by a high pressure system that is expected to move into the Bight on Monday and Tuesday. Another front will move over the south of the State overnight Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayCloudy with showers and thunderstorms moving across the State, mostly clearing from the West Coast district, Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island this evening. A cooler southwest to southerly change reaching a line near Coober Pedy to Keith in the late evening.Monday 5 DecemberSlight to medium chance of showers and possible thunderstorms over the Flinders and Pastoral districts, possibly reaching as far south as the northern and western agricultural areas, grading to a very high chance of showers and scattered thunderstorms north and west of about Coober Pedy. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Generally light winds and moderate southwest to southeasterly winds in the south.Tuesday 6 DecemberSlight to medium chance of showers extending across most parts north of about Ceduna to Renmark, increasing to a high to very high chance of showers and scattered thunderstorms north of about Oak Valley to Leigh Creek to Broken Hill. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Generally light winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Wednesday 7 DecemberA chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms extending eastwards during the day, reaching the eastern border later in the day. Mild to warm, grading to warm to hot in north. Mainly light winds, tending northerly later in the day.Thursday 8 December Showers and thunderstorms gradually clearing to the northeast during the day. Showers persisting about southern coasts, easing later. Cooler with moderate southwesterly winds extending throughout. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Thursday are expected to be highly variable, but generally range between 2 to 10 mm with isolated falls of 20 to 50 mm associated with the heavier shower and thunderstorms in the Flinders and Pastoral districts. Friday until SundayFine apart from a slight chance of shower about southern coasts clearing by Saturday night.
