Quality Price Spreads Remain Intact

PANAMA - Nov 19/16 - SNS -- Lentil markets maintained their firm tone through the past week against ongoing demand and underlying difficulties sourcing the right qualities from farmers and processors to meet export sales commitments.

Fundamentally, Canada has more than enough No 2 Canada lentils to meet outstanding sales commitments. However, there are significant variations within the grade, making it hard for shippers to match qualities with the expectations of customers.

This is reflected in quality based price spreads for No 2 grade large green lentils in both grower and export markets.
