Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 22/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system to the east of Tasmania is directing a cold southerly airflow over Victoria. A high pressure system over the Bight will drift eastwards across the State on Monday. A cold front will weaken as it approaches Victoria later on Monday then cross the State on Tuesday. Another high pressure system will develop over the Bight on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayWidespread showers on and south of the ranges, tending to rain over Gippsland later in the day. Heavy falls likely about the East Gippsland ranges. Local hail and thunder over central and eastern districts contracting to the far east at night. Isolated showers over the northwest. Snow falls down to 800 metres. Moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds, strong about the coast and ranges.Sunday 23 OctoberMorning frost patches inland. Areas of rain with isolated thunderstorms over the far east during the morning. Mostly cloudy with isolated showers in the south, contracting to Gippsland later. A cool to cold day with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Monday 24 OctoberMorning frost patches inland. A fine and partly cloudy day with a slight chance of a morning shower over the southeast. Cool to mild with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 25 OctoberFine apart from isolated showers later in the west. A mild to warm day with a strengthening northerly wind ahead of a late westerly change in the west.Wednesday 26 OctoberPartly cloudy with the chance of isolated showers throughout, more likely over Gippsland. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
