MELBOURNE - Oct 21/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system in the southwestern Tasman Sea is slowly moving southeast while an associated cold front will move across central and northeast New South Wales today. Following the front, a high pressure system will move across southeast Australia on Sunday and Monday, with the next cold front approaching late on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayHigh to very high chance of rain and showers across the north and east of the state with the chance of thunderstorms. Snow developing about Alpine peaks in the morning, lowering to 1000 metres about the southern ranges by evening. Small hail also possible about the southern ranges this afternoon and evening. Partly cloudy in the southwest. Fresh south to southeasterly winds, tending northwesterly in the northeast during the day.Sunday 23 OctoberMorning fog and frost about the ranges. Fine and sunny day apart from the slight chance of a shower about the coastal fringe and the Victorian border in the southeast. South to southeasterly winds.Monday 24 OctoberMorning fog and frost about the ranges. Fine and sunny day apart from the slight chance of a shower in the far northern coastal fringe. Southeast to southwest winds, tending northeasterly in the northeast later.Tuesday 25 OctoberFine and partly cloudy apart from the slight chance of a shower in the southern inland.
