Edible Beans Maintain Firm Tone

PANAMA - Oct 15/16 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets were generally firm during the past week even as short term demand has slipped behind selling interest from processors and exporters.

This was partly reflected in the U.S. spot index for beans, which inched 0.2 points lower on the week to finish at 144.5.

By contrast, the world pulse price index jumped 3.3 points to finish at 182. At the same time, the Canadian index rose 1.6 points to finish at 176.4.
