Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 30/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A large low pressure complex with multiple low centres affecting southeast Australia will continue to drift southwards and will move across Tasmania during Friday night, resulting in a westerly airflow across Victoria. A cold front is expected to reach western Victoria late Sunday afternoon and will cross the remainder of the State Sunday night and early Monday, before the next frontal system crosses the state Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers, tending isolated in the west. Isolated thunderstorms possible over central and eastern districts. Light to moderate westerly winds.Saturday 1 OctoberScattered showers in the south and east, clearing from the west during the late morning and afternoon. Showers falling as snow above 1600 metres. A cool to mild day with moderate westerly winds.Sunday 2 OctoberFine and mild at first. Rain developing in the west during the afternoon, reaching the east at night. Thunderstorms developing in the north and west during the afternoon. Strengthening northerly winds, gusty at times, shifting cooler westerly from the west during the late afternoon.Monday 3 OctoberRain contracting east then clearing later in the morning. Showers to follow, more widespread on and south of the ranges. Isolated thunderstorms possible in the west and north. Showers falling as snow above 1400 metres. Cool with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds.Tuesday 4 OctoberIsolated showers tending scattered about the northeast and southwest. Showers falling as snow above 1400 metres.
