Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 29/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A large low pressure complex with multiple low centres affecting southeast Australia will drift southwards later today and will move across Tasmania on Saturday resulting in a westerly airflow across Victoria. The next cold front is expected to reach western Victoria late Sunday afternoon and will cross the remainder of the State Sunday night and early Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers, tending to rain areas over the northeast this morning and falling as snow above 1200 metres. Isolated thunderstorms possible during the afternoon over central and eastern districts. A generally cool to cold day. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds over eastern districts and moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds developing over the west.Saturday 1 OctoberScattered showers in the south and east, clearing from the west during the late morning and afternoon. Showers falling as snow above 1500 metres. A cool to mild day with moderate westerly winds.Sunday 2 OctoberFine and mild at first. Rain developing in the west during the afternoon, reaching the east at night. Strengthening northerly winds shifting cooler westerly from the west during the late afternoon.Monday 3 OctoberRain contracting east then clearing later in the morning. Showers to follow, more widespread on and south of the ranges. Cool with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Friday.Product IDV10310
