Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 29/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A deep low 987 hPa over central Victoria will move southwards to be over Tasmania this afternoon. A ridge of high pressure will move over the west of South Australia today and then move east of the State early Saturday, ahead of a trough moving over the west later Saturday and a cold front moving across the State on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayEarly frost patches in the northwest A slight to medium chance of showers about the agricultural area and far south of the Northeast Pastoral district, increasing to a high to very high chance about central and eastern parts of the agricultural area. Cool with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong about central coasts and becoming strong about southeastern coasts in the afternoon and evening.Saturday 1 OctoberEarly frost patches about the Mid North and Flinders Ranges. A slight chance of showers about the South East districts during the morning. Mild to warm, grading to hot in the west, with moderate to fresh northerly winds shifting milder west to southwesterly in the west during the day.Sunday 2 OctoberA slight to medium chance of showers except over the northwest interior, increasing to a high to very high chance over the southern agricultural area. Possible thunderstorms about western and southern coasts and also over the Flinders and Pastoral districts northeast of about Coober Pedy to Renmark. Warm in the far north with fresh to strong north to northwest winds, ahead of a colder fresh to strong west to southwest change extending throughout.Monday 3 October
A high to very high chance of showers over the southern agricultural area and a slight to medium chance over the northern agricultural area, south of the pastorals and far northeast. Possible morning thunderstorms about the coasts and the South East district. Cool in the south, grading to warm in the far north. Fresh to strong westerly winds in the south, moderate in the north.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Monday are expected to be 40 to 60 mm on the ranges south of Nuriootpa and 20 to 40 mm on the ranges between Nuriootpa and Jamestown and about the Metropolitan Area. 20 to 30 mm over the South East districts. 10 to 20 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area and far northeast interior, 5 to 10 mm over the remainder of the northern agricultural area and Northeast Pastoral. Less than 5 mm over the Northwest Pastoral and West Coast west of Streaky Bay.
Tuesday until ThursdayShowers over the agricultural area Tuesday, contracting southeastwards during Wednesday, then fine Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Friday.Product IDS10033
