Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 28/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A vigorous front associated with a deep low pressure system will move across South Australia today. The deep low southwest of the Bight will gradually move eastwards over the next couple of days to be over Victoria by Thursday night. A high pressure system will move in from the west on Friday, moving to the east during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayHigh to very high chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms east of about Ceduna to Coober Pedy, extending east during the day. A slight to medium chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms to follow the rain for areas south of about Coober Pedy, increasing to a high to very high chance about the southern agricultural area with heavy falls possible. Possible small hail about Eyre Peninsula, the West Coast and the south of the North West Pastoral districts. Mild to warm with freshening northerly winds ahead of a colder, fresh to strong west to southwesterly change extending throughout from the west during the day, possibly reaching gale force at times in the west.Thursday 29 SeptemberA slight to medium chance of showers about the West Coast, agricultural area and the south and east of the Pastoral districts, increasing to a high to very high chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms about the southern agricultural area. Possible heavy falls, mainly about the Mount Lofty Ranges and Mid North districts. Possible small hail about the West Coast and Eyre Peninsula. Cool to cold, with fresh to strong southwesterly winds extending throughout, possibly reaching gale force at times.Friday 30 SeptemberA slight to medium chance of showers about the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts, increasing to a high to very high chance about the southern agricultural area. Showers easing through the afternoon. Early frost patches in the far west. Cool with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong near the southeastern coasts during the morning, tending light and variable in the far west.Saturday 1 October
Early frost patches about the Mid North and Flinders Ranges. A slight chance of showers about the South East during the morning. Mild to warm, grading to hot in the west, with moderate to fresh northerly winds shifting milder west to southwesterly in the west during the day.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Friday: 2 to 10 mm, increasing to 20 to 60 mm over the agricultural area, with some falls of 50 to 100 mm possible over the Mount Lofty Ranges and Mid North districts.
Sunday until TuesdayA slight to medium chance of showers extending across most areas apart from the northwest, more likely about southern coasts and ranges. Showers contracting to the agricultural area and West Coast on Monday. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north, becoming milder on Monday. Moderate to fresh westerly winds, strong at times near southern coasts.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
