MELBOURNE - Sep 25/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak cold front across western New South Wales will progress through to the east during Sunday, accompanied by some patchy rain. Another high pressure system is then forecast to follow in the wake of the front, drifting slowly across the region and restoring mostly fine conditions at the start of the new week. The next significant frontal system is expected to affect the region during the second half of the week. Forecast for the rest of SundayPatchy rain, scattered showers and the chance of thunderstorms through central and eastern parts, mostly clearing by evening. Snow showers about higher parts of the Alps. Fine and mostly sunny in the far west. West to southwesterly winds extending throughout, with a fresh southerly change along the southern and central coast.Monday 26 SeptemberMostly fine, just the chance of some showers near the Victorian border and south and central coasts, with possible snow about the higher Alps. Partly cloudy. Light winds inland, tending southeasterly along the coast.Tuesday 27 SeptemberFine apart from the chance of a shower on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. Partly cloudy. Light winds inland, tending southeasterly along the coast.Wednesday 28 SeptemberShowers developing in the far west and spreading to the ranges in the evening. Showers tending to rain in the far west later. Snow developing on the higher peaks of the Alps, lowering to about 1100 metres by late evening. Fine and mostly sunny in coastal districts.
