Slow Start to Mustard Movement

PANAMA - Sep 18/16 - SNS -- Mustard movement is starting the season at a slow pace, reflecting limited stocks of new crop product through the first week of September,

This year's harvest is now over 36% complete, suggesting around 90,000 metric tons (MT) of new crop was available, compared to 74,000 MT at the same time last year.

The CGC reports 200 MT of bulk mustard seed export clearances through reporting terminals and primary elevators between September 5 and 11. That lifted season to date exports to 1,300 MT, compared to 1,500 MT exported during the previous marketing year.

Farmers delivered 400 MT to primary elevators during the week. This lifts season to date deliveries by farmers to 2,400 MT, compared to 3,100 MT during the same period last season.
