Fundamental Easing in Peas

PANAMA - Sep 10/16 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading on a generally easier note, reflecting improved availability of new crop supplies in North America.

This year's North American field pea harvest is in its final stages, with Canada's harvest more than 85% complete by week's end, while more than 90% of the U.S. harvest was in the bin.

This is reflected in deliveries into Canada's bulk handling system. As of September 4, a record 1.3 million metric tons had been delivered into the bulk handling system, versus 986,400 MT during the first five weeks of the previous marketing year.
