Renewed Debate Over Lentil Yields
PANAMA - Sep 10/16 - SNS -- Updated yield estimates from provincial agriculture departments in Canada continue to point to a bigger crop than forecast by Statistics Canada last month.
If accurate, production could end up around 3.3 million metric tons (MT), compared to the official estimate of 3.23 million and last year's 2.54
million MT result.
Though different methods are used to come up with yield estimates, the provincial numbers can be seen as indicative of the direction yields will take through the balance of the harvest.
