Few Changes in Birdseeds
PANAMA - Sep /16 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading unchanged to easier.
Growers in some products took advantage of advances in bid levels to sell additional product. The net result is markets for those products are fairly well covered over the short term, allowing values to relax.
There was limited movement in Canadian canaryseed. This year's harvest is underway, with over 9% of the crop in the bin, down from 15% last year, but above the recent five-year average of 6%. That progress lags other field crops is not surprising. Farmers typically harvest canaryseed after other crops because it is weather hardy.
