Optimism Over Mustard Yields

PANAMA - Sep 10/16 - SNS -- Unofficial yield data for Canadian mustard seed suggest this year's crop will end up larger than last month's estimate by Statistics Canada.

The crop was officially forecast at 250,500 metric tons (MT), but yields reported by farmers now suggest it could be closer to 297,000 MT.

However, since the harvest is just over 25% complete, yield estimates could change significantly by the time the entire crop is in the bin.
