Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 30/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge over New South Wales is weakening. A cold front preceded by a rain band will move through state during Wednesday followed by a low pressure trough developing across the western parts on Thursday and deepening before moving over the Tasman Sea during Saturday. In the wake of the trough another high pressure system is expected to move over southeastern Australia on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayRain extending through the west and southern inland, possibly reaching the southern ranges in the evening. Fine elsewhere, though generally cloudy. Local early frost and fog patches on the tablelands. The chance of a thunderstorm over the far southwest later. North to northeasterly winds, freshening along the coast.Wednesday 31 AugustRains areas west of the Divide, more widespread about the southern and central inland, easing during the day then clearing from the west. A few showers east of the Divide, though remaining mostly fine in the northeast. The chance of thunderstorms in the central southern border districts. Northerly winds, fresh in the east, shifting westerly across the south and west.Thursday 1 SeptemberRain areas across the northern inland, mainly later in the day. The chance of showers elsewhere. Generally light winds.Friday 2 SeptemberRain and showers throughout the state, with the chance of thunderstorms over the northwestern border. Northerly wind over the northeast, freshening along the coast, south to southwest winds elsewhere, fresh over the northwest inland.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Tuesday.Product IDN10031
