MELBOURNE - Aug 27/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A large high pressure system over South Australia will drift over New South Wales during the weekend, reaching the Tasman Sea Monday night. The high will extend a ridge southwards over Victoria on Saturday before contracting to far eastern Victoria on Sunday. Meanwhile a low pressure system will develop over southern WA over the weekend then move south of the Bight on Monday before approaching western Victoria later on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine after early fog patches in the east. Morning frost in the north and east. A cool to mild and partly cloudy day with light to moderate northwesterly winds.Sunday 28 AugustFine. A mild and partly cloudy day with moderate northerly winds, freshening over western and central districts during the afternoon.Monday 29 AugustFine until isolated showers develop in the west during the afternoon and evening. A mild and mostly cloudy day with moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 30 AugustRain in the west extending eastwards during the day but mostly dry in East Gippsland.
