Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 21/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A series of cold fronts are forecast to move through southern parts of New South Wales from Friday to Monday, while a high pressure ridge gradually builds across the north of the state over the weekend. A vigorous northwest airstream is anticipated ahead of the first cold front on Friday, and cooler conditions are expected to follow these fronts in coming days, particularly across southern parts of the state.
Forecast for the rest of FridayWidespread morning fog. Rain on the southern half of the ranges and western slopes, with heavy falls possible in the south. Snow developing on the Alps above 1600 metres later in the day. Isolated to scattered showers over much of the remainder, but remaining fine on the north coast and in the far northwest. Mild to warm day, with strong to gale force northwesterly winds across the east, and fresh to strong northwesterly winds in the west.Saturday 23 JulyShowers on the ranges, western slopes and parts of the coast, most likely about the southern slopes. Snow showers over the Alps lowering to about 1000 metres. Colder, with strong west to southwest winds. Remaining mild to warm on the north coast.Sunday 24 JulyShowers on the southern half of the ranges and western slopes. Snow showers over the Alps above about 800 metres. Colder, with north to northwest winds freshening in the west.Monday 25 JulyShowers on the southern half of the ranges and western slopes. Snow showers over the southern and central ranges above 800 to 900 metres in the morning.
