MELBOURNE - Jul 21/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strengthening northwest airstream is expected over New South Wales on Friday ahead of a cold front moving through the south during the day, with mild to warm temperatures. A series of cold fronts are expected to move through over the coming days, bringing colder more wintry conditions, particularly over the southern parts of the state. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers across much of the remainder of the state, tending scattered along the southern slopes during the afternoon. Mild, with variable winds along the coast and west to northwesterly winds inland.Friday 22 JulyRain on the southern half of the ranges and western slopes. Snow developing on the Alps above 1400 metres later. Showers over much of the remainder, but remaining fine on the north coast and in the far northwest. Areas of morning fog. Mild to warm day, with strengthening northwesterly winds.Saturday 23 JulyShowers on the ranges, western slopes and parts of the coast. Snow showers over the Alps lowering to about 1000 metres. Colder with strong west to southwest winds. Remaining mild to warm on the north coast.Sunday 24 JulyShowers on the southern half of the ranges and western slopes. Snow showers over the Alps above about 800 metres. Colder with north to northwest winds freshening in the west.Monday 25 JulyShowers on the southern half of the ranges and western slopes. Snow showers over the southern and central ranges above 800 to 900 metres in the morning.
