Weather Situation A cold front will cross western and southeastern New South Wales today and the northeast during Friday. In a wake of the front, a high pressure system will move over southeastern Australia on Saturday. The next cold front is forecast to move through the state during Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayRain over the southern inland and ranges, clearing from the southwest during the evening. Snow above 900 metres about the Alpine area. The chance of a thunderstorm with possible small hail over the far southern inland and ranges. Fine and partly cloudy in the north and along the coast. West to northwesterly winds, fresh to strong over the southern ranges.Friday 1 JulyShowers over the southern half of the ranges and adjacent western slopes, clearing later in the day. Showers falling as snow above 900 metres over the southern and central ranges. Possible small hail over the southern and central ranges in the morning. Partly cloudy elsewhere inland, and mostly sunny along the coast. West to southwesterly winds, fresh over the ranges and parts of the coast.Saturday 2 JulyThe chance of a shower about the southwest slopes. A snow shower or two about the Alps above above 1600 metres. Partly cloudy elsewhere inland, and mostly sunny along the coast. Morning highland frost. South to southwesterly winds tending variable inland.Sunday 3 JulyThe chance of a shower about the southwest slopes. A snow shower or two about the Alps above 1600 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Areas of morning frosts, with patchy morning fog along the ranges and across the southern inland.
