Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 30/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A southwesterly airstream over the south of the State will continue to moderate in the wake of a front over Victoria, as a high pressure system extends from the west, to be centred over the west of the State later on Friday. The high will then move eastwards to be over New South Wales by Sunday. A trough of low pressure will move over the State on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe slight chance of a thunderstorm and possible small hail over the South East districts till early evening. The slight chance of showers over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts, increasing to a medium chance over the southern agricultural area and a high chance in the Lower South East. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, easing during the evening.Friday 1 JulyMorning fog patches in the far west. Early frost over the northern agricultural area, Flinders and south of the Pastoral districts. A slight chance of showers about the west coast and the southern agricultural area, increasing to medium chance about the south coasts of Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Cool to cold with moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh about southern coasts, tending light to moderate southerly in the north.Saturday 2 JulyMorning fog patches in the west. Early frost over the northern agricultural area, Flinders and south of the North East Pastoral district. The slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area, increasing to a medium chance over the Lower South East coast and over the southern Mount Lofty Ranges. Cool with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds in the south, tending light and variable in the north.Sunday 3 JulyEarly frost over the Flinders, North East Pastoral and Riverland districts. A slight to medium chance of showers near southern coasts and in the Lower South East. The slight chance of rain developing west of Nullarbor in the afternoon. Cool with mainly light northeast to northwesterly winds.Monday 4 July
A slight to medium chance of showers over the agricultural area, tending to areas of rain further north, but clearing northeast of about Marree. Cool with mainly light northerly winds ahead of a southwest to southerly change in the west in the afternoon or evening.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Monday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm, with higher falls of 5 to 15 mm possible near southern coasts, the Lower South East district, the southern Mount Lofty Ranges and with the rain area in the north and west.
Tuesday until ThursdayRain over the Pastoral districts east of about Coober Pedy, contracting east and clearing by midday. A slight to medium chance of showers over the agricultural area, contracting to mostly coastal parts on Wednesday and Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
