India Tenders for 45,000 MT Pulses

DELHI - Jun 7/16 - SNS -- India's state trading company, MMTC Limited, has issued several tenders for the import of pulses.

In a tender closing today, MMTC is seeking offers of 5,000 metric tons (MT) of Canadian and/or Australian origin whole red lentils equivalent to No 2 Canada.

The lentils are for shipment in bulk or bags in seller's option in containers between September 1 and October 15, with half destined for Kolkata Port and half for Kandla.

MMTC reports that asking prices on the tender range between U.S. $689 and $724.50 MT on a CNFFO basis. All reported offers were for new crop Canadian lentils.

In a tender closing June 9, MMTC is seeking offers of 35,000 MT of Canadian whole yellow peas. The tender closes June 9 and covers 2016 crop No 2 Canada or better whole yellow peas for shipment in bulk between August 15 and September 15 on a CNFFO basis to JNPT, Mumbai.

The peas must contain maximum 2% other colors; 0.5% maximum foreign matter of which not more than 0.25% by weight shall be mineral matter and not more than 0.10% by weight shall be impurities of animal origin; 8% splits with the cargo able to contain up to 12% splits with a U.S. $1 per MT discount for every percentage increase or part thereof between 8% and 12%; total damage 5% maximum by weight; and maximum 14% moisture. Other quality parameters include a maximum of 100 mg per kg of uric acid and not more than 2% by weight of other edible grains.

In a tender closing on June 15, MMTC is seeking offers of 5,000 MT of 2016 crop Australian and/or Canadian origin desi chickpeas shipped in containers. Half is for shipment to Nhava Sheva/JNPT and half for Chennai Port.
