Lentil Weather Market Rumblings

PANAMA - Jun 4/16 - SNS -- Tight spot market supplies of red and green lentils is starting to see the focus of markets shift to new crop.

This is helped by the fact seeding of Canada's lentil crop is essentially complete, with 98% in the ground by the end of May, compared to an average of 88% by the end of the month.

Early seeding helps diminish the risk of a frost event while crops are maturing. However, some market participants are worried about chances for above average precipitation during the growing season.
